The right option depends on evidence, client priorities, feasibility, safety, and measured outcomes.
Compare alternatives to extinction ABA plans
Ask for an option table with the assessed relation, proposed change, evidence, expected benefit, foreseeable risk, client preference, ordinary access, staff demands, measurement, and decision rule. Some plans combine components, so the report should state when the effect of one component cannot be isolated.
Interpret the change cautiously
Avoiding extinction does not automatically make a plan effective or acceptable. An alternative outcome can be too delayed, a task can remain inaccessible, or partners can miss communication. The team still needs integrity, target and replacement outcomes, side-effect monitoring, assent, generalization, and maintenance data.
