I believe that progress isn't just about the number of hours spent in therapy - it's about the meaningful connections we make and the outcomes we achieve. Each session is designed to maximize your child's potential by focusing on goals that matter most to your family. You, the caregiver, are in the driver's seat. I will help you learn to find teachable moments in everyday routines that will improve your child's abilities and quality of life. Using research-backed methods, we weave learning into everyday moments, helping your child gain skills in natural, real-world settings to build confidence. Our unique approach focuses on balancing the child's lead to increase engagement and intrinsic motivation, leading to progress and skill development, while also teaching caregivers how to set reasonable limits to improve behaviors that interfere with family life.
First, we will talk with you about your priorities, hopes and goals for your child, your child's strengths and how we can build on those strengths. Next, we will talk about how we can meet those goals and potential obstacles and carefully design a plan to teach the most important skills to build a foundation. We will explain the reason for what we are about to do and what to expect. Once we start the teaching, we will continue to talk about how things went and problem solve challenges that arise. Then as progress is made, we can decide together what success looks like and when your child is ready to graduate from services.
